Today
[23 May 2006]

Everything's so different now,
Routines have changed,
New things have occurred,
Old things far away in the distance,
My vision is blurred.

Sometimes time goes by just too fast,
Reality seems like a wild storm,
My whole world goes round,
Millions of objects separating me,
And a world with too much sound.

People are like broken washing machines,
Full of dirt and grime,
Making lots of noise,
Not knowing what else to do,
Than perform their boring functions like a bunch of plastic toys.

Music soothes the soul,
Too many are the tiring, long days,
Only motivation to continue - to move on,
Carry on the necessary,
And finish this business - this song.

Why does a heart sink when lonesome?
Why does one feel unwanted?
Not substance - not as good as another,
Funny what one tries,
But never succeeds as no-one will bother.

Nature pleases a hurting soul,
But never mends a broken spirit.
Far and wide have I searched to find that one,
Above all daily life,
To cure this hurt - to say I've won.
Future - Timed
[9 March 2006]

Years to come; Years gone by,
One little blink, and time just flies,
Big world; Small world,
Horizons expand,
Many planes just flying around,
Finding a good place to land.

Chains are cut and houses built,
Bitter fluids consumed, and oops!,
Precious possessions no longer sealed,
Prizes here, prizes there,
Much to stare at what they wear,
Opportunities: given; taken; lost,
On the journey through the course.

Many ticks of time will pass,
Test after test, then exams -
Memory tested (and hopefully, that memory did last!),
Before long, the path will end,
A certificate here, a beret there,
To signal, the start of a Future - and many more friends.
